Ratings

A lovely wine. While it lacks the stuffing for extended aging, it is delightful to drink now. A blend of Zinfadel (76.1%), Sangiovese (6.3%), Syrah (12.8%), Petite Sirah (4.3%), and tiny dollop of Merlot (0.5%). Most of the components are sourced from Napa. Why such a tiny amount of merlot? I have no idea, but the blend works really well. Smooth and polished berry flavors with a touch of spice. I liked their 2003 release a lot, but this is a tad better. You can buy it online (and use Paypal) for about $19, which I think is cheap for a wine of this high quality. Strong buy recommendation.

Professor Bainbridge - May 12, 2006

A very good value, Magito's 2004 Zinfandel offers abundant amounts of strawberry and black cherry fruit, along with a touch of green pepper herbaceousness. A blend of 76% Zinfandel, 12.8% Syrah, 6.3% Sangiovese, 4.3 % Petite Sirah, and a dollop of Merlot, this soft, round, tasty effort should be enjoyed over the next year.

The Wine Advocate - June 2006
Red screw top. Unequivocal pepper spice with rich background flavor. Drink with meat, Chinese, Thai, Quiche, solid flavor meal. Opens in glass to non-spice rich plum perfect for end of meal. Most perfect dinner wine for meat/robust meal I have enjoyed. Buy all you can afford. End of report. DougBuchanan.com AlaskaStories.com AlaskanAlpineClub.com
